While most instructors at L.A. Dance Academy have been dancing their whole lives, Justin is a living testament that it is never too late to start dancing. Having been mostly self-taught, his interest in hip hop dance prior to 2003 (which marks the year he recognized his passion for dance), was further motivated with watching music videos on TV and the internet (before YouTube ever existed).
In 2007, Justin Serrette joined a local competitive dance group, Sikat Dance Company. Through Sikat, he has had the privilege to choreograph and participate in workshops, and to travel across Canada and compete with other hip hop dancers from across the nation. He has taken classes with international instructors from the likes of: Shaun Evaristo, Marty Kudelka, Jun Quemado, Lenny Len and many more. Justin will always remain a student of dance, no matter what his title in dance may be; continually learning from all types of dance genres. He has turned a hobby into a passion, and has gained knowledge to teach the fundamentals and style of hip hop to help students further their own passion for dance.
