Teacher: Ms. Rebekah Jones
A triple threat and musical theatre performer and choreographer. She has performed with Rainbow Stage (Wizard of Oz) and Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre (Billy Elliot), as well as in Fringe Festival productions (The Brain from Planet X), with Winnipeg Studio Theatre (Love Notes) and other local productions. In 2003, Rebekah performed for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on her Royal visit to Winnipeg, and has performed on Parliament Hill for Canada Day and in DisneyWorld for Magic Music Days.
As a choreographer, Rebekah has recently choreographed for Koba Entertainment (Bubble Guppies Live), Sarasvati Productions (The Dance-off of Conscious Uncoupling), Celebrations Dinner Theatre (Rock Around the Clock), and acted as the Assistant Choreographer for Winnipeg Studio Theatre (Heathers). Most recently, Rebekah was the Children’s Dance Supervisor for Shrek The Musical at Rainbow Stage. Rebekah has also apprenticed with Rainbow Stage (Les Miserables), Dry Cold Productions (A Man of No Importance, The Addams Family), and Koba Entertainment (Mike The Knight). We are so excited to have her join our faculty at L.A. Dance Academy!

Join master teacher Brenda Gorlick in her L.A. Dance Academy debut. Over the course of the next two weeks, Brenda will be introducing her “triple threat technique” to the students of LADA. Through vocal warm-ups, theatre games &choreography, Brenda will be coaching students in the acting, singing, dancing principles of musical theatre.
Ages: 7-11 yrs Dates: Sunday, Sept. 18th & 25th (two sessions) Time: 3:30-5:30pm Cost: $85 (includes gst) *no experience needed!
Ages: 12-17 yrs Dates: Tuesday, Sept. 20th & 27th (two sessions) Time: 7:30-9:30pm Cost: $85 (includes gst) *no experience needed!
Brenda Gorlick has been involved in the Performing Arts world for over 35 years as performer, choreographer and director. She has choreographed over 150 productions for every theatre and stadium in Winnipeg and has gained a reputation as being the “Flash Mob Queen” of Manitoba, including the 103rd Grey Cup Gala. Brenda serves as Associate Artistic director for Winnipeg Studio Theatre and helms the StudioWorks Youth and Adults Only Ensembles. Her artistic achievements include Women of Distinction Award, Rainbow Stage’s Wall of Fame and WST’s Award of Excellence.

Our first week of dance classes begins Monday September 12- Sunday September 18th

Please see below for some important reminders and studio guidelines:

  1. All students must be dressed in appropriate dancewear that is outlined in the Dress Code 2016-2017 handout. Dress Code Handout
  2. NO STREET SHOES & JEANS, NO SKIRTS OR DRESSES
  3. All students must have their hair pulled back away off of face at all classes i.e. Ponytail, bun, burettes or headbands.
  4. Students or parents may not enter dance studios. Please obtain permission from the front desk before entering.
  5. Preschool students are encouraged to bring juice boxes. All students may bring plastic water bottles for break time. NO POP!
  6. DO NOT BRING FOOD OR SNACKS INTO THE STUDIOS!!! NO GLASS JARS PLEASE.
  7. All students who carry cell phones must be turned off during dance class.
  8. All dances classes are closed to visitors (friends & family). We will have a holiday presentation day for families in December and a Recital in June.
  9. Parents are asked to wait for students outside studios, until class is dismissed.
  10. No gum allowed in studios and or during class time.
  11. Photos and Videos are not allowed to be taken during any class time.
